How to prepare the driveway for automatic sliding gates
Foundations, power cable, sliding space and paving — a checklist before the fitters arrive.
1. Foundations
The posts and motor need a concrete foundation below frost depth (~1 m). Before production we send a drawing with exact dimensions — you can pour it yourself or leave it to us.
2. Power cable
Run a 230 V cable (3×1.5 mm²) in a protective conduit to the motor position. For photocells and intercom — extra signal cables across the driveway.
3. Space for the gate to slide
The gate slides sideways along the fence — you need a clear run equal to the gate width plus ~1 m for the counterweight. No trees, poles or buildings there.
4. Driveway paving
The paving under the gate must be level and finished (pavers, asphalt, concrete). If paving comes later, we agree the levels in advance.
