Frequently asked questions: Outdoor railings
Did not find your answer? Call us or send an enquiry – we reply within 1 working day.
How high should outdoor railings be?+
Terraces and balconies — at least 1.0 m (1.1 m for apartment blocks), stairs — 0.9 m handrail height.
Do railings rust by the sea?+
Sandblasted and powder-coated railings last for many years – just wash them once a year and touch up any chips in time. We recommend this finish for seaside projects.
How much do outdoor railings cost?+
Indicative price — from €120/m fitted, depending on pattern and finish.
How are railings fixed to the stairs?+
On concrete stairs – with chemical or mechanical anchors into the treads or the side wall; on wooden stairs – through a steel plate into the structure. We choose the fixing method during measurement so the posts do not narrow the passage.
Can railings have a wooden handrail?+
Yes. We make a steel frame with an oak or thermowood handrail, a laser-cut pattern or LED lighting under the handrail. The elements are planned in the drawing before production.
How long do production and installation take?+
Measurement within 1–3 days of enquiry, production 5–30 working days depending on complexity and season, installation usually one day. The lead time is stated in the quote.
Do you make railings for balconies and terraces, not only stairs?+
Yes – balcony, terrace, French balcony and roof terrace railings are made on the same principles: measuring, drawing, sandblasting, powder coating, installation. For balconies the fixing through the facade insulation matters – we plan it in advance.
