FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Forged crosses and sun crowns

Did not find your answer? Call us or send an enquiry – we reply within 1 working day.

How long does a cross take?+

Usually 2–4 weeks, up to 6 for complex ones.

Can you make one from an old photo?+

Yes — we recreate old crosses and sun crowns from a photo or sketch.

Which finish lasts longest on a cross or sun-cross?+

Sandblasted and powder-coated metal lasts for years – just wash it occasionally and touch up any chips. Matt black or graphite for a classic look, gold accents for details.

How is a cross fixed at a grave or on a roofed pole?+

At a grave – anchored into a small concrete foundation or granite base; on a roofed pole or wayside shrine – through a steel plate or set into the wood. The fixing is planned in the drawing for the specific site.

Can I order from my own sketch or family symbols?+

Yes – we work from a sketch, photo or description: monograms, dates, plant motifs, sun-crosses with traditional or individual elements. A drawing is prepared for approval before production.
